“Education is the ability to listen to anything without losing your temper or your self-confidence.”

- Robert Frost, Poet

I happened to read this……..
Now it’s your turn…..

As I was passing the elephants, I suddenly stopped, confused by the fact that these huge creatures were being held by only a small rope tied to their front leg. No chains, no cages. It was obvious that the elephants could, at anytime, break away from the ropes they were tied to but for some reason, they did not.

I saw a trainer near by and asked why these beautiful, magnificent animals just stood there and made no attempt to get away.

“Well,” he said, “when they are very young and much smaller we use the same size rope to tie them and, at that age, it’s enough to hold them. As they grow up, they are conditioned to believe they cannot break away. They believe the rope can still hold them, so they never try to break free.”

I was amazed. These animals could at any time break free from their bonds but because they believed they couldn’t, they were stuck right where they were.

Like the elephants, how many of us go through life hanging onto a belief that we cannot do something, simply because we failed at it once before?

“Believe in yourself, and the rest will fall into place. Have faith in your own abilities, work hard, and there is nothing you cannot accomplish.”

- Brad Henry, Politician

“Whatever I have tried to do in life, I have tried with all my heart to do it well; whatever I have devoted myself to, I have devoted myself completely; in great aims and in small I have always thoroughly been in earnest.”

- Charles Dickens, Writer

From today I will be posting some famous quotes daily under “Quote of the day”…………..
To start with………

“Success is not the key to happiness. Happiness is the key to success. If you love what you are doing, you’ll be a success.”

It’s been a long time since I posted something………………..

Here comes some Quotes on Enthusiasm………………

Enthusiasm (Ancient Greek: ἐνθουσιασμός enthousiasmos) originally meant inspiration or possession by a divine afflatus or by the presence of a God. Johnson’s Dictionary, the first comprehensive dictionary of the English language, divines enthusiasm as “a vain belief of private revelation; a vain confidence of divine favour or communication.” In current English vernacular the word simply means intense enjoyment, interest, or approval.

Like what you do.
If you don’t like it, do something else.
-Paul Harvey

A man can succeed at almost anything for which he has unlimited enthusiasm.
-Charles Schwab

Mediocre idea that generates enthusiasm will go further than a great idea that inspires no one.
-Mary Kay Ash

Act enthusiastic and you become enthusiastic.
-Dale Carnegie

Catch on fire with enthusiasm and people will come from miles to watch your burn.
-John Wesley

Nobody is bored when he is trying to make something that is beautiful, or to discover something that is true.
-William Inge

Some of the worlds greatest feats were accomplished by people not smart enough to know they were impossible.
-Unknown Author

Success is going from failure to failure without losing your enthusiasm.
-Abraham Lincoln

The little that is completed, vanishes from the sight of one who looks forward to what is still to do.
-Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

Years wrinkle the skin, but to give up enthusiasm wrinkles the soul.
-Douglas MacArthur

There is nothing better than the encouragement of a good friend.
-Katharine Butler Hathaway

They may forget what you said, but they will never forget how you made them feel.

Enthusiasm is the leaping lightning, not to be measured by the horse-power of the understanding.
-Ralph Waldo Emerson

How do I get mp3 songs and streamed videos from sites with play option, but no option to save?

If this is your question, read through to get a possible answer……..

When mp3 or videos are played in browser it is first buffered in a temporary location.

  • IE uses the folder Temporary Internet Files as default.

You can find this storage location from Tools -> Internet Options… -> General Tab -> Temporary Internet Files -> Settings…

Go to that folder and copy the buffered file(.mp3/.wmv…) to any desired location.

By default it is “C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files”

  • In case of FireFox your job is little complicated. Firefox doesn’t allow the cache location to be configured by the user.

It stores the cache data under the directory “C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Local Settings\Application Data\Mozilla\FireFox\Profiles\<xxxxxxxx>.default\Cache”

<xxxxxxxx> could be any 8 character and no need to bother about it.

Now comes the big problem. FireFox doesn’t store cache files with extension unlike Internet Explorer.  Also it leaves no clue since it also changes the file name to some random 10 character name.

All you can do is to guess the file you need with available details, file size & modified time. Copy the files which you think could be the one you need to some desired location. Change their extension to .mp3/.wmv/.flv or to any relevant extension. This is a trial and error method and you may end up not finding the needed file.

This complexity is one of the secure feature of FireFox.
